Cannawine Cranberry Pineapple Express Simple Syrup

I used cannabis wine to infuse this pineapple and cranberry flavored simple syrup, and then enhanced it with pineapple express terpenes and added CBD! This recipe is versatile for those who have access to dispensaries or those who are familiar with cannabis infusions in their own kitchen!

This recipe is one part to a three part Cannabis Infused Creamy Terp Punch recipe, perfect for New Year's Eve or any #cannaoccasion. The final two recipes are to come!

Use this cannabis infused simple syrup in place of any simple syrup to elevate your favorite cocktail recipes!

Cranberry, Pineapple Express and Cannabis Wine Simple Syrup

Makes about 4 cups of a thinner viscosity simple syrup

*approximately 1mg CBD per tablespoon of simple syrup and about 1/4 tablespoon cannabis infused wine per tablespoon of simple syrup. If you use infused sugar there will be approximately 1/4 tablespoon infused sugar per tablespoon of simple syrup.

1/2 cup cannabis infused wine of choice (containing THC), I used a homemade cannabis infused wine- pumpkin, which was light in both flavor and color; a little dry also and worked beautifully. I suggest a rose or white so it doesn't overpower the rest of the ingredients, but really any wine you enjoy will work! (if you do not have access to cannabis infused wine, use non-infused wine. Check your local dispensary for an alcohol or glycerin based tincture or RSO (Rick Simpson Oil), but you will want to incorporate these after removing from heat- following the dosing directions/recommendations.)

1/2 cup water

1 cup fresh cranberries

1.5 cups fresh pineapple

3.5 cups granulated sugar

1 teaspoon light corn syrup or glucose syrup to help prevent sugar recrystallization

13 droppers Muru CBD Elixer (65mg CBD)- Murucollective.com also offers THC #cannamixers that would be excellent if you do not have access to cannabis wine!

2 drops Pineapple Express Terpenes by True Terpenes

In pot, bring pineapple, cranberries and water to a boil, carefully mash the fruit to release their juices, boil for about 5 minutes, stirring and mashing often. Add in cannabis infused wine. Carefully add sugar and boil until sugars are dissolved, stirring often and brushing sides just above surface of liquid with wet pastry brush (covering will cause condensation and have the same effect) to prevent sugar crystals sticking. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes. Strain through mesh strainer or a few layers of cheese cloth to remove fruit pulp, squeeze out and collect simple syrup. This is very hot, so be careful when transferring and handling. Once, strained, incorporate Muru CBD Elixer (this is when you can also incorporate your tincture, RSO, or whatever you are using if you do not have access to cannabis infused wine or sugar.) Add pineapple express terpenes after you have cooled the syrup for some time and is no longer hot to the touch. Cool completely- your simple syrup is finished! Use according to desired recipes; store covered in cool place, refrigeration is not necessary. Shelf life should be about a month since you have heated it to kill any bacteria.

No access to cannabis wine, tinctures or concentrates to incorporate!?! Here is a recipe for cannabis infused sugar, which you can replace about 1 cup of the sugar in the above recipe with!

Cannabis Infused Sugar

1 Recipe for Quick wash cannabis infused alcohol (below) to every 1 cup of sugar

*For the recipe above you will want to make about 1 cup of infused sugar.

Combine sugar with cannabis infused alcohol until all sugar is saturated with infused alcohol. Sprinkle, now infused sugar onto sheet pans, evenly spreading it in a thin layer. Use 2 sheet pans if need. Allow alcohol to evaporate from sugar, mixing often. Evaporate alcohol from sugar until it returns to its previous, granulated state. Place a clean fan above sheet pans with sugar to speed up alcohol evaporation. Now you have cannabis infused sugar!

Quick Wash Cannabis Infused Alcohol

1/2 cup vodka ice cold from freezer

7 grams decarboxylated cannabis flower, broken up into small pieces and frozen

cheese cloth2 pint size mason jars with lid and ring

funnel

coffee filter

rubber bands


 
In 1-pint mason jar, combine frozen, decarboxylated cannabis and ice cold vodka. Tighten lid/ring and shake vigorously for about 2 minutes. Immediately, strain plant matter out of vodka using multiple layers of cheese cloth, held over funnel with rubber band. Squeeze any remaining alcohol into mason jar, from cheesecloth, then discard cheesecloth. *You may rewash the material if desire- just be sure to keep the washes separate (they will be different grades).


 
After you have completely strained cannabis from alcohol, place lid and ring on jar and freeze for 48 hours to winterize. After 48 hours, slowly strain alcohol through coffee filter (keeping as cold as possible) to remove lipids.


 
Once, you have strained completely, your cannabis infused alcohol is complete. It takes a very little amount for effects. Store in freezer for best quality.
